TCS10K-2025 Run Report – All are winners !

Ok ! This is my first attempt to writing a run report , it is a ritual that we have started as part of our running ninja group here in Bengaluru. I volunteered to write one and selfishly also put it on my blog , because running is also part of my everyday reflections ! We are a group of runners based out of Whitefield and regularly make our way to many runs throughout the year!

Sometimes these runs are a jamboree of people joining and going as a group! One such race where I was also part was TCS-10K-2025 that we all participated on 27-April-25! Whilst the race itself is deplored for its costly registration but the honeybee trap of Procam to people who have aged with the tradition to do this run , always find there way through those distractions to make it to the “waves” ; yes “waves” because you are talking about 30K people of which roughly more than 50% are just open-10K across genders!

I did like to do a special mention for Abhishek Roy who is one such person that has most probably aged with this race format and carriers a special bib number 888888 ! you may get some vibes of being a running laggard if you are going to see his results but be reminded he is into sport although running is not his primary profession ! He has others things to do!

The Collection

Nothing is short of drama when it comes to races.. and when it comes to this one , the scale is massive. We collected around 30-35 bibs for people carrying a rack-sack of goodies with undertakings whilst braving the arduous summer heat of Bengaluru to get these to our group .. all delivered nicely..like a buffet table.. The group should thank Pankaj Pandey and Major Sumit alongside me [ 😉 ] to get this at the doorsteps of our crew!

There was also a case of missing bib which we solved only on the race day .. Although we send several teams but each sortie returned blank! Srini sir and his bib could not be traced , but viola … we find him with a bib at the race day ! .. salute !

Race Day

Major Sumit was our transporter who follows the motto of No Man left Behind . We were arranged a door to door pick and drop facility that was as sharp as it could get 4:30 to 9:30 AM and in 5 hours the race went into history books!

Seeing Major , Salil one of other one of its kind runners of our group , Major and myself were debating that youth in India should attend defence training for 2 year or 5 years so that they become more disciplined but then we dropped that idea to head to our wave gates ! The debate remained inconclusive with some emotional points being contentious! Well this is what a group offers .. conversations! and that could be wide ranging I must say !

Thank you Major for impeccable transportation for the race..kept our spirits high and we did not go dry 😉

How did we do !

I think our group is slowly moving to a “shift-left” strategy ! too technical yikes ! The graph below shows [ at least for the data points I have ] that HIIT , Plyometrics , Core , Non-playing captains and dedication to be scientific about what we do is growing !

Every one first wants to be fit and whoever has jumped that hump has started to find mojo in training with brains. There are seasoned and dedicated campaigners whom we all know like Abhishek & Prashant who never get unnoticed for their unwavering dedication to running and being really structured about it ! If you want to know want randomness could be .. then join. me one day :-p ! then we have folks like Ishu , Jahan , Meenakshi , Sushil.. who get up and decide to run their best ! So kudos to all those who are “shifting left” ! oh wow the corporate kind will get this “bell curve” ! If you really want to understand the “shifting left” phenomena then have a chai session with Salil who has been on that journey since start of the year !

One thing was common though , everyone was chirpy before and after the race so yes ! whatever training each one of you are doing .. is making your runs more effortless everyday ! keep doing that ! And a big congratulations to folks in the 40-50 minute mark ! Deepak Ramji simply blasted it!

Non-Playing Captains

Every group or team has this and we are not also devoid of that , we are blessed to have Aashu , Rahul and Sundaram. There support and effort to come down to cheer us through the race at 5th and last was amazing .. I think people like me would have lost it if they would have not given a shout out for my name ! Beyond cheering they are also THE Brain force behind many runners in the group!

The standout!

Shobhit Trivedi from our running group braved the humidity and heat on the race day to go in traditional attire and do a 5KM ! Kudos man ! Way to go ! Thanks Srini sir for the intel , otherwise we would have missed something unique in our report !

The Wrap

Whatever be your timing ! each one of you are winners ! here is to all the winners..
