In his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (1989), Covey distinguishes between two types of people. Proactive people focus on what they can do and the influence they can have. Reactive people focus their energy on things beyond their control. Reactive people keep an attitude of victimisation and blame.

The following points are very relevant in daily and professional life so that one can become effective in making decisions. I use this to understand where I am operating. In context to that, I determine where the most influence lies for me.
